I went shopping for Valentine cards the other day for my family. As I was looking at the cards in the somewhat busy card aisle, a young boy about nine years old walked right up to me and started talking. He had a large bandage on his arm and he said that his arm was hurting. I asked what had happened. And he told me that he had been attacked by a pit bull dog the day before. He said the wounds on his hand went all the way to the bone in several places. He showed me his arm that was bruised from his shoulder to his elbow. He raised his bangs and showed me a gash in his forehead that had required stitches. He said he had lost a lot of blood and had almost passed out. They had called the ambulance to take him to the emergency room.
The little guy was telling me all of this and I was about to cry. Then he said, “They tell me that I’m very lucky that it didn’t go for my throat. God was really looking out for me!” I replied, “Yes, He was!” And he immediately said, “Where do you go to Church?” I told him and we talked a little more before his dad came along and confirmed how dangerous the attack had been on his son.
I was amazed and in awe of this child! Only one day after such a tragedy, this small boy was sharing his testimony with strangers and giving God the glory for saving his life!!
1 Chronicles 29:11(KJV) Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.
Psalms 94:22(KJV) But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.
Proverbs 20:11(KJV) Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.
