The Perfect Rose

We were planning a wedding shower for a special young couple. I enjoy cake decorating and such. So, I volunteered to make the shower cake.
I am often a “hoot owl” and tend to stay up late working on projects. On the night before the wedding shower, I was up at about midnight working on the shower cake.
The cake was shaped like a wedding dress and was supposed to have a bouquet of tiny flowers in the center. I had bought some little white flowers for the bouquet. But when I put them on the cake with white icing, it just didn’t pop. I had been hoping for a chic look. But instead, it looked drab and washed out.
I was getting tired and the party was the next day. I had to get the cake finished. So I prayed, “Please dear Lord help me find some flowers that will look nice on this cake.”
I grabbed my flashlight and went outside in the dead of night looking for something suitable to use in the flower bed. I started at the rose bush. And the first flower I saw was the most perfect little red rose bud. I have never seen a rose bud that was more perfect!!
That red rose bud tied with a little red ribbon was the perfect bouquet for my cake. It looked awesome! Thank you, Lord!!
I don’t know if God supplied that rose bud for me or if it was meant for the beautiful bride-to-be. I like to think that it was for both of us. But, I do know that God answers prayers and in all things we need to give God the glory. All good and perfect gifts come from our heavenly Father, who loves us and cares for even our simplest needs.
Revelation 7:12 KJV Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
