A Bird’s Eye View

We have a tiny little maple tree in the front yard. It is only about two feet tall. And the deer keep eating the leaves. So, it probably has less than ten leaves on it at any given time.
Anyway, one day I looked out and there sat a yellow bird in the top of that little tree! I laughed so hard!! You would think that little bird would have wanted to be somewhat higher off the ground! But, I guess to him it was the perfect seat because I noticed him sitting there several times after that day as well…and still made me laugh every time!
The little bird made me think of the Bible story about Zacchaeus. Zacchaeus was a rich little man that climbed a sycamore tree so he could see Jesus and watch Him pass. And Jesus looked up and saw Zacchaeus in the tree. He told him to come down because He was going to stay at Zacchaeus’ house. And Zacchaeus joyfully received Jesus.
What an honor and a blessing for Zacchaeus! And what an honor and a blessing for all who joyfully receive the Lord!!
Luke 19:8-10 (KJV) And Zacchæus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. 9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
