Missing Ingredient

I was making some baked goods to take to a Church potluck. I mixed up the batter for some refrigerator rolls, which called for a half cup of sugar, and put it in the frig. Then, I started on my snickerdoodles. I finished rolling all of the cookie dough into balls and put them in the oven. A few minutes into the baking time, I noticed the cookie balls were not spreading out and did not look right. They stayed little round hard balls even after the baking time was complete. Something was wrong! I reread the recipe and realized I had forgotten to add the sugar! I had put sugar in my roll batter a few minutes before I started the cookies. So, I guess I thought I had put sugar in the cookies too!
Just one missing ingredient in those cookies caused them to stay hard and crumbly on the inside. And they did not spread and grow like they should have.
My hopeless cookies were like a life without the Lord Jesus. If you don’t have the Lord in your life, you can’t become what you are intended to be. You can’t grow and you stay hard while your insides crumble.
And a life with Jesus is sweet…just saying!
John 14:6 (KJV) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
