When I was growing up and we would see a traffic accident almost happen my dad would say, “I thought we were going to have to wake up Leroy” and when we would ask why he would say, “because, Leroy ain’t never seen a bad accident!!”

Well, in the past couple of days, I’ve felt like “waking up Leroy” at least twice. The one today could have been really bad had it not been for God’s grace. A car pulled out from a side road onto a divided highway right in front of another car. The car coming toward them had to be traveling at least 65 mph and they never even hit their brakes! It looked like they missed each other by maybe a couple of feet. And I don’t know about them, but just watching the whole thing made me suck up the seat covers!!

We all make mistakes. And God has an extreme amount of patience with us and He shows us mercy and grace every day. We need to extend that same mercy and patience to others. And hit the brakes from time to time when we see others not making the best decision.

Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV) It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
