Glorifying God

I am reminded today that the things which bring glory to God are not always what we expect. Who would expect the painful execution of God’s son on the cross to have brought glory to Him? But that is exactly what it did and continues to do!!

Christ Jesus would have never been captured, tried and executed had it not been God’s will. But it wasn’t what His followers were expecting. They were expecting an earthly fight and a worldly kingdom. Jesus could have called for a legend of angels, but he willingly went with his captors. He was willingly nailed to the cross. And why did he do this?? He did it to save us from our sins and to glorify His Father.

So, when things aren’t going so well in your life. If you are enduring trials, tribulation, pain and sickness, remember that God is glorified when we remain fateful. When we seek His face and ask for help, we glorify Him. When we are thankful for answered prayers, we glorify Him. When we share with others the good things that God is doing for us and how He helps us during the bad times, we glorify Him. God can turn even the direst situation around to His glory and honor, if we will just let Him. And we show the world that God reigns supreme when we keep our chin up and glorify Him!!!

Psalms 50:15 (KJV) And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
