An Unfinished Race

Nothing is ever over until God says it is over. I’m reminded of the story of Paul when he was stoned and left for dead. They intended to kill him. And they thought they had killed him. But then as the disciples stood around him, he got up. And the very next day he was able to travel with Barnabus to Derbe. How amazing was that!?
You may sometimes feel like life is looking pretty grim. I bet Paul even wondered if that was going to be the end for him. But God was not done with him. Paul’s race was not finished! So, he picked himself up and dusted himself off and kept on going. And sometimes that is what we all have to do, because your race is not over until God says it is over!!
Acts 14:19-20 And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead. Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.
Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Timothy 4:7-8 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
