We recently attended the wedding of two beautiful people. The wedding was in a field, which sat on a hill and had an awesome panoramic view. It was a sweet wedding and a very nice ceremony. They had several things that are common to weddings. But, they also had some unusual aspects as well.

I’ve seen many ways that couples have demonstrated the uniting of the two families, such as the unity candle and the combining of the different colors of sand. But this couple had a unity ceremony that I really liked and had never seen. They had a cross with three cords. The cord at the top of the cross represented God. The cord coming from the left side of the cross represented the bride and the cord on the right side represented the groom. All three cords were brought together in the center and the couple wove them together to make one solid cord that reached the bottom of the cross. It signified that their lives woven together with God would be strong and very hard to break. Very cool!!

Nothing in our lives is ever good without the Lord. And their commitment to Him from the beginning is a great start. They honored God at their wedding. And the Lord honored them and blessed their wedding with many things including beautiful views, a really nice breeze and an absolutely gorgeous sunset! Thank you Lord!!

May God bless this young couple in their marriage. And may they always keep the Lord woven in their lives, in Jesus name.

Ecclesiastes 4:12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
