Abundant and Free

This year’s wet spring has produced an abundance of available earth worms. We’ve had them crawl out and die on the concrete in the driveway in bunches. The birds are so full that they can be selective. They can pick and choose to eat only the worms that they like.

A young little robin, not long out of the nest, was trying to eat a big feisty worm. He was having trouble killing it. He would peck it then hop back. Two big black birds swooped in. One pecked the worm, ate a chunk of it and flew away. The other one put its foot on the worm, killed it, ate a piece and also flew away. The little robin hopped back over to the worm and ate the remaining piece, which made him a nice dinner. The Lord took care of the little robin. He showed him how to kill the feisty worm and made the big birds leave part of the worm so the little bird could eat. God is so good!!

For us, God has provided His Word. And in this season, God’s Word is abundant and free. Rejoice in this blessing! And like the little bird in the story, even the smallest and the weakest can come feed and be filled with His Word. Come while you can and while there is still time.

Luke 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

Matthew 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
